Young Finnish saxophone soloist Joonatan Rautiola played
his part with amazingly soft colours and a glorious tone. He received a
delighted applause from Monday evening's public, and the audience heard as an
encore the virtuoso solo work Jungle with busy melodic lines peppered
with onomatopoetic effects.
(Weit ausgefaltetes Klangspektrum : Der junge finnische Saxophonesolist Joonatan Rautiola kleidete seinen Part in überraschend zart getönte Farben und einen Klang von edler Ausstrahlung. Er bekam von Publikum am Montagabend begeisterten Applaus, und die Zuhörer dafür als Zugabe ein virtuoses Solostück mit dem Titel "Dschungel", dessen emsig kreisende Melodik mit lautmalerischen Effekten gespickt war, bravourös gespielt.)

”Jazz mood”
The young comet Joonatan Rautiola masters his
instrument with sovereign virtuosity. Jacques Ibert's Concertino da camera
is a major work in its genre and Rautiola played it with in all the
colorfullness of the saxophone. His sophisticated and sensitive interpretation
blossomed in the Concertino's dreaming monologues as in its twisting
bendings.

The soloist of the evening, Joonatan Rautiola, took reign of
the estrade in Jacques Ibert's chamber concerto for saxophone and orchestra.
Rautiola's virtuositys most significant feature was his extremely nuanced
dynamic scale from the whispering pianissimos to the blaring fortes.
